Photoshop [Elements] 2020 freezes

Attemting to open Photoshop [Elements] 2020 and it opens to editor screen but cannot do anything. Have to close with Task manger where it says 'not responding'.

Tried uninstal and reinstalling, updates and problem remains. PC is Win 10, M.2 drives, 32G RAM

It is Photoshop Elements bought with Premiere Elements 2020 and it did the latest update. Cannot do any troubleshooing since the program won't repsond. It has worked fine for several years so I guess Adobe programs expire forcing the purchase of a newer version.

Is there any resolution? I'm having the same problem. I am running on Windows 11 and have 32gigs of ram. I have run sucessfully on a laptop with similar resources (16 gigs of ram). I bought the computer for better editing with a larger screen. Please help.
