Photoshop Elements 2020 - We have detected an abnormal exit.

APE2020 will not open and I get a message; "We have detected an abnormal exit.  Please try again or open/create a different catalog.  Do you want to try again?"  I tried creating a different catalog and get the same message.  I have removed Phototshop Elements 2019 and 2020, shut down, reinstalled 2020 and still have the same error.  By the way I am using an iMac with the latest updates.

So are you unable to open any catalog?  Please post a screenshot of any error message you are getting.  And did you reset the preferences?

I am not able to get to the preferences.  I just get stuck in an endless loop even when I get to the catalog section.  It all goes back to the same error statement.

I know almost nothing about Macs.  On Windows, this message will prevent you from opening the Organizer.  The solution is to press the Shift key while launching the Organizer.  This will open the Manage Catalogs dialog.  I don't know what the keyboard equivalent is for Macs.  If you are able to get into the Manage Catalogs dialog, select your catalog and try to Repair and Optimize it (using the available buttons).

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Organizer's preferences file. Immediately after launching the program, press Option+Shift+Cmd. A message should pop up asking if you want to delete the Settings file. Answer OK.

None of these suggestions worked.  But thanks for trying.
