Photoshop Elements 2021 (v 19) not reading WebP plugin after recent Windows 10 update

Question

Running Win 10 64-bit w/most recent update, my WebP plug-in for Photoshop Elements 2021 is now not working. I was using WebPShop_0_3_3_Win_x64.8bi (in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2021\Plug-Ins), have also tried updating that to WebPShop_0_4_3_Win_x64.8bi. Restarted PSE Editor, neither worked. Restarted computer after updating the plug-in, still not working. WebP plug in does not show in /Help/About Plug-in in PSE, doesn't show as loading when starting up PSE.  Thanks for ideas here, frustrating.

Some troubleshooting tips for the plugin can be found here. The correct paths for the plugin are described for Photoshop CC. I suggest you investigate whether the following paths work for Elements 2021:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 19

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 19\File Formats

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2021\Plug-Ins

Well, that did it!  You beat the Adobe help which wasn't very helpful.  Putting the most current  WebP .8bi into the /common folders did the trick. Thanks!   Adobe:  figure this out and push a simple update to your users!  Too many WebP files out there now to not get your user base on board (GIMP of course figured this out long ago, natively managers WebP...).
