Question

Photoshop Elements 2021 will not open on my Mac. It says it is because it requires a minimum of OS X, but I am well past that, running the current OS Tahoe 26.5.

Thank you. After I posted, it occurred to me that the problem might be that PE 2021 was not supported. I looked in apple’s App Store and found PE 2025. A 7-day free trial does nothing for me, so I purchased it. So it is not 2026 and I missed out on the upgrade discount.

Of course, “purchased” with Adobe means a lease—in this case, three years. I remember when Adobe changed from selling their software to leasing it. Total cash grab.

Thanks for responding. I wish I had waited a little longer and seen it before purchasing.

$27.00 a year. Total cash grab. Got it.

It’s a 3 year term license.   Last time I checked it worked out to $2.19 a month (if given the typical $20 discount of owning a previous version.

“So it is not 2026 and I missed out on the upgrade discount.”   That make it seem like you didn’t make your purchase from Adobe but rather some other website.

Cash grab?  Far from it--- SAAS Software as a service is just the way things are now.  Photoshop (and all that creative cloud stuff) has been subscription based for about 13-14 years now-   I subscribe to it- best money I spend each month.

I predict within 2 years that Photoshop Elements will become part of the creative cloud family and be offered only as subscription based software- as it should be.

Sorry but PSE 2021 isn’t compatible with Tahoe.  Try a free PSE 2026 trial for 7 days here instead.

    https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-elements/free-trial.html

If you like it, you’ll qualify for a special $20.00 off upgrade price as the owner of a previous version.
