Photoshop Elements 2022 Error 11

Photoshop Elements 2022 will no longer open on my laptop using Windows 10. I am getting an error 11 message and being told to uninstall and reinstall.  When I try and uninstall the program I get the following error message;

Windows cannot find C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Desktop Common\HDBox\Uninstaller.exe

I've tried installing the program without uninstalling but I just go round in circles and get the same error 11 message.

I've tried the Creative Cloud cleaner and that hasn't worked.

I've tried deleting the old Photoshop Elements 2022 files and folders but my system still seems to think I have an old version of the program and it's refusing to allow the installation to go ahead.

Correct answer Greg_S.

When you attempted to use the CC Cleaner tool, were you actually given the option to delete Elements 2022?  If not, you need to select the 1. All choice for clean up:

This will open a new dialog and should give you the option to delete the program.  (Photoshop Elements 2022 is version 20 of the program, so that may be the choice that is given.)

Many thanks. When I first tried the Creative Cloud Cleaner there was an option just to delete Adobe Photoshop Elements 2022 which is what I initially tried. I used the tool again today and set the Cloud Cleaner to delete all Adobe programs. That finally worked and I was successfully able to reinstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 2022.

I've moved your post from Photoshop to the Photoshop Elements forum.
