Photoshop Elements 2022 installer will not run (Windows 11)

Hello,

I have just bought Elements 2022 from Amazon as an electronic download.  I have redeemed the licence numebr and follwed the link to download the installer.  When I try and run it though I get the message that the installer is damaged.  I have tried re-downloading the file several times.  I have used both the link from the licence redemption and directly from the Adobe webiste where you get the 30 day trial version and I get the same result whatever approach I take.

Here is a screen shot of the error.

I tried chatting with an agent, but they could not help and told me to post here.

I had the same error on a new Windows 11 device. I didn't go via Amazon - rather Adobe directly - but I believe it was the same installer file. I was only able to get past the error and install PE2022 from the .exe when I installed Creative Cloud first:

https://creativecloud.adobe.com/apps/all/desktop (you'll need to be logged in to your Adobe account)

I think the installer must depend on some parts of Creative Cloud and they assume you'll already have it. I didn't see it mentioned on the System Requirements page; only a passing mention on one of these community pages. I hope it helps.

I have the same program on Windows 11.  I've tried to uninstall the files to get a clean start --- but get the same error message about the installer file being damage.   I wait, and wait on chat for help .... but no one ever comes on line.

Photoshop is like a veneral disease that gets in your PC and is there forever .... you can never get rid of it.  Wish I had never purchased it.   Not just a waste of money --- but you waste hours trying to get it to work ... and it never does.  (And, I'm using a brand new computer --- now with this nasty files scatter through it. -- I could have gone with a different vendor program.)

I have had no response from Adobe support to this issue and have now got my money refunded by Amazon as the product does not work.

Even worse I was sent a private message asking to contact Adobe support directly.  I strongly believe this was phishing attempt as it went on to try and get personal details from me and was going to invoice me for more money.  Please be careful of any offers of support.

Hi @Robin220101775ohm

I can only say that in my case I had no problem with ordering PSE2022 from Amazon.

I am quite sure you are right, that was a pishing attempt. Many thanks for calling the attention of other forum readers on that risk.

My advice is to buy the license directly from Adobe after downloading a trial version to check if everything works as expected. Of course, the Black Friday offer from Amazon at 38,99€ was too tempting...
