Photoshop Elements 2022 - many editing tools do not work

Question

I have Photoshop Elements 2022 on my Dell laptop. At first, I really liked the 2022 version. But then AI effects stopped working with just a brown screen and now the clone brush and the refine edge brush in Replace background no longer works.  Because I like Photoshop and use it daily, I have just continued creating with some work-arounds but it is getting harder and harder to be creative.  Should I just update and buy photoshop Elements 2023?  I have Windows 11.  Any advise is appreciated. Thanks!

My advice is for you to consider the free 30-day trial. If the recent version works to your satisfaction, you may purchase it.

Of course, we don't know exactly what you are trying to do and what your work flow is.

Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing PSEv.2022?. Should you elect to go this route, be sure to deactivate prior to uninstalling.
