Photoshop Elements 2023 slow/hang issues.

I have recently upgraded to Adobe photoshop Elements 2023 and am having issues ie when using Shadow - Highlight it hangs an takes a long time to see what changes are or just part changes to settings also is much slower than previuosly used 2020 version which had no problems. iMac 13.1 ventura up to date.

I had something similar happen to me- i think it was my own fault though:  I had 5 different version of PSE installed (to help users answer questions with older versions).  My computer (WIN 10) didn't like that sometimes- I got some pop-up messages about "Shared Adobe resources)- as soon as I uninstalled all the older versions (except for pse 2022, and pse 2023) no more messages, and no more hanges.   I wish I could say definitively what this issue was --- it was never an issue in the past.
