Photoshop Elements 2023 stopped functioning correctly

Been using Photoshop Elements 2023 since it came out. This morning while working on a project it crashed. When it came back on it is not working properly. When using the textbox you can not see the text as you are typing and only after you hit the green checkbox will it appear, but then you can't backspace and edit it. Tried restarting but not luck there. Any other ideas? And up to date on updates.

Make sure that you are on the Horizontal or Vertical type tool, not on the Type Mask tool.

On the type tool's option bar, you should see a rectangular box on the bottom. Click on this to reset the tool. If that does not fix it, go to Edit menu>Preferences>General and click on the reset preferences on next launch button. Close the program and re-open

Thanks so much! I was on the Horizontal type too and not the Type Mask tool. So I tried your suggestion of resetting preferences on next launch and that did the trick! Thanks for taking the time to help, appreciate it!
