Question

Photoshop Elements 2024, not allowing save for web in any format except JPG

  • Sometime in the last week the "Save for Web" option doesn't offer any version except JPG  medium.
  • It used to allow for various PNG and GIF versions, even different JPG high and low.
  • Even if I save it PNG first,  the save for options do not include PNG.  See example below. Image has been blurred to hide client information.
  • Changing image size, mode, and profile do not solve the problem.
  • Has anyone had this problem and what is the solution?

Thank you,

ELB

Looks like Glenn is quite right about the choices looking greyed out when they actually selectable.

In the Light UI Mode the choices do not look greyed out, however in the Dark UI Mode the choices do look greyed out even though they selectable.

This is on a Windows 10 install.

PSE 2024 on the Mac side doesn't seem to have this issue.

Dark UI Mode

Light UI Mode

I do apologize for not having checked that more thoroughly before having you reset the Save for Web Preferences.

I'm just making sure that you know all the options are possible- even though they look "greyed out"

Me?  If my problem was what exactely as you described: I would log out, then uninstall, redownload the pse 2024 from your adobe account, and reinstall it.

For some reason all my guided edits stopped showing up-  I did  what I just described and it took care of the issue.

I've never heard or read of anyone having your problem.

The following is only if your described issue is what you initially posted about, and not if the menu choices in dark mode work, but look greyed out....

ONE MORE THING YOU MIGHT TRY:   Hold down your left  shift key then click on the icon that starts the editor, answer YES when given the chance.   Doing that temporarilly turns off all your plug ins and gives you a basic clean start of the editor.   If the problem goes away when doing that you know has something to do with any plug-ins you may have installed.   even iff you do not have any plug ins that you have installed, it wouldn't hurt anything to give it a try.

You need to ask program questions in the forum for the program you are using

A computer restart clears the all the stuff from memory and whatnot versus a computer shutdown which may not clear everything out depending on certain Windows settings.

The

Adobe Save for Web Elements Prefs

are rebuilt next time you use Save for Web, so it's safe to delete them.

Nope, "save as" anything but JPG still DOA.

What version of Windows are you using?

Does it make any difference restarting the computer?

If not i would go to

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\24.0\Plugins

and delete the

Adobe Save for Web Elements Prefs

Hi Jeff

My SOP is shutdown, wait 60 seconds and reboot.

Also tried fresh install.

Still DOA.

Won't delete "save for web" kill that function completely or will it prompt for a reinstall/repair?

Can't screw up the software any more than it is, deadlines you know.
