Photoshop Elements 2024 Won't Start on ARM-64 Windows 11

I purchased and installed Photoshop Elements 2024 on my new HP OmniBook 14 laptop with a SnapDragon X Elite chip, 16GB of RAM and running Windows 11.  The install went fine but when I tried to open the photo editor, the spinning asterick with the message "Loading Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor Workspace..." shows on the screen for about a minute then disappears without actually loading the program.  My understanding was that Photoshop Elements 2024 would run natively on an ARM64 Windows - what am I doing wrong?

OK, so I was trying to open the editor from a default installation, which takes me to the screen that shows a start button for the Organizer, Photo Editor and Video Editor, none of which would work.  Based on your hint above, I navigated to the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2024 folder, found the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe file and double-clicked on it directly.  Lo and behold, the program asked for my serial number and then started up.

The editor appears to be working correctly now.

Thanks for the help!

You must have file extensions turned off in the Windows Explorer View>Show menu:

If you are still unable to open the program, I suggest you uninstall and reinstall it.  And if that doesn't work, you can try contacting Elements support. You can start a chat session by going to the Contact Adobe Support page. (https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen) Make sure you are signed into your Adobe account and try typing Agent when the chat window opens. (If you use my link, the chat window should open automatically.)

You are clicking on the shortcut to the Home Screen.   The program file is named PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe and will be found further down the folder list.

Doesn't the Photo Editor icon on the Home Screen work for you?

Thank you for responding Greg,

The Elements welcome window opens after the installation, the Photo Editor icon opens the small black ribbon for a short time and then disappears without opening the editor.

I have found the program file PhotoshopElementsEditor found further down the folder list, but it doesn't have the "exe" extension. If it were an executable file I believe the program would open.

I have the same problem. I have completely uninstalled Elements 2024 with the command panel and reinstalled a couple times on my Snapdragon laptop. The download was fine each time however the editior will not open. I have located the files on the "C" drive, under Adobe. Have clicked on Elements and found the Elements Editor file. The problem is this is not and exe file. There is no extension after the file name. When clicked on it brings me back to the opening page, the small back workspace line opens and then after a short time disappears and the program does not open. How do I get the correct "exe" file to open the program?

Are you using the Organizer?  If so, try turning off all Media Analysis in the Organizer's Edit>Preferences>Media Analysis dialog and see if it makes any difference.

Are you using a wi-fi printer?  If so, change the default printer to something else - even Microsoft's pdf virtual printer.

No Joy.  I downloaded and attempted to install the compatibility pack you referenced.  Once the install app started, screen message "checking for latest version" appeared then the install ends with statement "The latest version is installed."  There is an Open button at the bottom of the install windows but pressing it has no effect.  I also rebooted my computer prior to trying to start Photoshop Elements 2024 editor but it still did the same thing - spinning asterick with the message "Loading Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor Workspace..." shows on the screen for about a minute then disappears without actually loading the program.

Got anything else?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
