Photoshop Elements 2025 Photo Editor font size too small

There are numerous posts about the font size of previous versions being too small. I have tried the suggestions and found that I can increase the font size using Edit/Preferences/Display & Cursors and changing the UI Scale Factor. However, the font is so large that the tools run off the screen (example attached). It would be nice if the scaling factor had some other options (like 125%, 150%, etc.).

 

I thought the font size in Elements 2024 was a little small but found it useable. Why is the font size in Elements 2025 even smaller? Samples attached. How can I get the 2025 verion font sizes the same as the 2024 version?

This worked for me on Windows 11 Pro.

 

Go to the; C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2025\ folder.
Right-click on the file named PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe and select Properties from the context menu.
A new dialog box will open.
Select the Compatibility tab.
Now click the box at the bottom; "Change High DPI Settings".
A new box dialog box will open - High DPI settings for PhotoshopElements.
At the bottom of that dialog box, check the box; "Override high DPI scaling behavior". Scaling performed by:
In the "target" box below, "Application" will be selected - chance it to "System".


That last extra action of changing the target box from; "Application" to "System" is what is needed to make this work.

Then click the OK to close the dialog box, then, in the last box now open click, the Apply box, and then the OK box to exit out.

This gave me a nice UI in Elements 2025.

    I just got off the phone with support. He fixed my situation of too small font. Geezzzz. A 22 year old must have designed this. I can see it now.

    If you go to

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2024

    and right click on the

    PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe

    then click Properties and click Compatibility, then click

    Change high DPI settings

    do you see anything checked?

    I had tried checking "Override high DPI ...." but it didn't make any difference so I unchecked it.

    One thing you have not mentioned in your conversation is the size of your monitor.  I have a 32" monitor and have no problem seeing the text of the icons in the interface.  A 14" monitor on a laptop leaves alot to be desired- a 14" sized screen isn't much better that a sheet of paper- when viewed from about 2.5 feet away.

    It's my understanding that the interface font was tweeked / changed to appear crisper in more recent editions.   
    On a side note:  I am not aware of a simgle program, other than Photoshop, which allows you to to change of the size of the text in a program interface.  Even with that the changes you can make in photoshop in regards to the interface are minor, almost inpercetible. 

    Seems to me that you have tried changing everthing you can.   Have you tried changing system settings?
    What you have been changing so far is just program settings.

    I have an Nvidia  gtx 3060 video card- it's pretty nice, and has many option in the interface.


    Below is a screenshot from the nvdia interface--- many interfaces look simliar. 





    Below are two screenshots from two different monitors-   My 32" monitor, and my 24" monitor- you tell me which.



    Big monitors are cheap nowadays--- heck if your system can support 4K you could get a 4K tvv and use that- be aware that most users do not sit 2.5 feet away from their 56" tv screens-- things can be easiily too big.

    Bottom line: Sounds like you may need a larger montior as is there  really is nothing more for you to do.

    Try using the Windows settings.

     

    • Right- click on your Windows desktop and select Display Settings
    • In the dialog that comes up, make sure that your Display Resolution is set to the Recommended size
    • Experiment with the UI Scale:

    My Windows desktop display resolution is set at 125%. The recommended setting is 100%. Changing it to the recommended setting makes icons and text on the desktop and other apps to be too small.
