Photoshop Elements 25 and MAC OS 27

What is everyone doing that paid for a three-year license for Adobe Photoshop Elements 25 and now with about two years remaining on the license, Adobe isn’t updating? So your choices are:

  1. Pay for a new program and waste 1.5 years of money or
  2. Not upgrade your Mac and be at risk for 1.5 years

Thank you; so the 3-year license is basically false advertising. I don’t know about it being the policy for years. I can say that for many years, you purchased the program and basically used it forever. Time to look at other options and go back to a PC.

If you don’t upgrade the MAC you receive constant notices about updating and Apple doesn’t want to offer help when something goes wrong because you haven’t updated the OS.

    Thank you!

So that is an apple concern, not Adobe.  Apple speaks about “security” but from a purely consumer standpoint:  Apple wants people to start using devices that have apple cpu’s.

You want to keep using apple products, you will have to play by their rules.  Think about it:   “You play our way, or walk away”…

Windows users?   Generally no such problems with older versions- but once you go back to pse 2010 all bets are off.

There is nothing false about the three year term license. It has been clearly documented since day one.

Well, I wanted a Surface Pro and Photoshop Elements is no longer compatible.

I reviewed my purchase and it said nothing about limitations of previous versions.

It’s all about Adobe making more money. Yes, Apple updates/upgrades too often.

I don’t need all those bells and whistles Adobe thinks are great about organizing photos. I take well over 10,000 photos a year and organize with Flickr that is compatible with everything.

Thanks for your comments, but I’ll pursue the problem in another avenue.

    1. You have basically two options: neither of which you will care for: (Nort counting Phinny’s comment)

      1. Do nothing
      2. Purchase the latest version (registered users of previous versions typically are offered a $24 discount during the checkout process.)

Only the current version, and the previous version are officially supported, meaning, when pse 2027 was released, pse 2025 became unsupported- which has been the policy for years.

That means there is zero chance for any updates.

    According to Copilot ...

If your Mac has an M‑series chip, you may upgrade — but it’s not mandatory.  Intel Macs will continue receiving security updates on macOS 26 for about two more years, even without upgrading to macOS 27.
