Photoshop elements crashes on MAC

I purchased Photoshop elements 12 in 2014.

I have only ever used it occasionally to crop jpegs or resize them.

Now, it crashes immediately every time I try to do this !

I downloaded the WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin and copied it into the correct folder but this makes no difference.

I wondered about uninstalling and reinstalling but no download is available under my account, just the offer to purchase again the latest version.

I just want Elements 12 to work !

Please Help.
