Photoshop elements crashes several times a day

Am using trial edition and finally managed to import my photos, year by year, as bulk import crashed everything. Haven't really gotten to edit much as my first step is to review photos, correct orientation if required, eliminate unnecessary ones. But I can only do one or two tasks before it freezes up, sometimes requiring restart of program, sometimes restart of PC. I am running Windows 10 Pro 20h2. (Prior to upgrading to 20h2 I would get messages that the video driver needed updating; since 20h2 I no longer get that message, but I have never seen a program crash as much as this does.
