Photoshop Elements crashing when trying to crop.

Photoshop Elements 2021 is crashing when attempting to crop an image. This problem has just developed suddenly, as it started happening mid-February 2024. Tech support recommended I upgrade to the latest version of Photoshop Elements. I downloaded the trial version, and the 2024 version is also crashing when attempting to crop an image. Is anyone else having this problem? Has anyone determined a fix? I am running on Windows 11 Home Edition.

    If NVIDIA graphics, make sure to use the latest Studio Driver from NVIDIA (NOT the Game Driver).

    This is the studio driver I installed recently for my RTX 3060-- which is the best video card I've ever owned.   I assume the studio driver for other cards is the the same version# or very simliar. 

    I learned recently that video card drivers are not part of the OS--- the last few studio drivers I've updated I've done so while editing things in photoshop and PSE at the same time (maily justto see what happens when doing so)- my screen goes blank for a second during the update, and that's it.
