Photoshop Elements: when I edit a photo and save the change it can't find the file

When I edit a photo and go to save the edit my program cannot find the file. The photo file is in my "Pictures" folder and has worked properly in the past but now the save function can't find my file to save. How do I fix this?

Sometimes, PSE under macOS saves file names without extension (".psd", ".jpg", etc.).

In this case the "Open" dialog may not see such a file.

Isn't it your case?

I have Windows 11 and Photoshop Elements 2025 and just Downloaded it.a few days ago. I can Import Files and Edit Photos but when i go to File / Save or Save As is greyed out so that means i cannot save Edited File. I have been using earlier editions of Elements for years but never had this problem.

Please post a screenshot showing the enitre program like what you see below.

Just ttake a picture with your phone if you don't know how to also capture the dialogue box.

Elements wont allow me to save edited photos. When i go to File the Save or Save As is greyed out. So consequently i can't save my work.
