Question

Photoshop / Premiere Elements does not run on Win10 with activated virtualization-function „Intel VT-d“

We tried to install Photoshop Elements 18 and Premiere Elements 18 to a Windows 10 (Version 1709) Notebook. The installation runs without a problem. However, after restarting the Notebook Windows does not start but runs automatically into its repair mode. We could cure this behaviour only by deactivating the virtualization-function „Intel VT-d“ in the BIOS. But this Function is needed for some safety measures under Windows 10. We tried the Installation on several Notebooks. We had the same Problem on every Machine. Do you know a Cure?

Any idea when this issue will be resolved, and does the same issue exist with PE 2018 and Win10?

Hi User,

The issue exists with PSE only and PRE works fine when Virtualization is enabled.

Workaround that you can follow to make the fix can be found in this article: Windows 10 fails to reboot after installation of Adobe Photoshop Elements

Please go through the steps and let us know in case if you still face problems.

Thanks

Does this issue exist with PSE 2018 as well?

We are working on this problem.

This happens if you enable both Virtiualization function and Secure boot mode.

If you need virtualization function, can you see if you can disable the secure boot mode?

if yes, this would resolve your problem for now and you can use PSE/PRE with virtualization function on.

Or otherwise you can enable secure boot, and disable virtualization function for this to work.

we will get back to you, as soon as we find a solution to the problem. Thanks for reaching us on the user forum.

Regards,

Vipin
