Photshop Elements 2022 not recognizing correct Graphics Processor

Photoshop Elements 2022 is detecting an Intel(R) UHD Graphics Processor on my computer when I look in the Performance tab in Preferences. However, my computer is using a dedicated Nvidia Geforce RTX Graphics Processor on my Acer Predator Triton 500 SE laptop computer. How can I change this so it recognizes the Nvidia graphics processor?

Hello Michel,

Thanx, your little hints did it, at least for me! 🙂

What you need to do on Windows 11 is:
- click Settings -> System -> Display -> Graphics
- then click "Customs options for apps" -> "Add an app" -> "Desktop app" -> Browse
- ... and select "PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe" , set to "High Performance" and confirm

Voilà: PSE 2022 uses my RTX 3060 as shown at "Preferences -> Performance -> Graphics Processor Settings" and also NVIDIA GPU Activity tool shows PSE using the GPU !

Cheers!

Unfortunately, we do not find Adobe tech docs related to GPUs used in Photoshop Elements.

You'll find more for the full Photoshop, such as:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-cc-gpu-card-faq.html

This does not help much for Elements, though not supported features in Photoshop have zero chance to be supported in PSE.

On the other hand, the following link should help PSE users with two GPUs:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-gpu-graphics-card.html#Troubleshoot

(chapter 7)

Keep in mind that very few commands in PSE do use the GPU. In the menu Edit > Preferences > Performance, you can see that Adjust facial features and liquify are quoted. GPU is not used in the ACR dialog for cropping.

Hello,

Same problem for me: I run a brand new Dell XPS-17 with RTX 3060 GPU on Windows 11 and the GPU not recognized !

Regards,

Tom

I have the same problem and I could not find a solution for Photoshop Elements 2022 yet. How can I set Nvidia RTX Graphics instead of Intel(R) UHD Graphics Processor.
