Picture is turning into blue house icon. windows 10

It's  actaully a mountain with a moon.  It's the windows default icon for "I know it's an image but I don't know what you want to open it with."

  Just right mouse click on ANY of the blue icons choose CHOOSE ANOTHER APP,  choose it , and the select be sure to select the "always open with" box and the bottom.   Sounds like your file association (What program you choose to open a program) got changed.



YOU CAN ALSO DO THIS:  Locate all copies of THUMBS.DB  on your hard drive and delete them, every one of them.   You thumbnail data base may have become coprrupted for any number of reasons.  Windows creates thumbs.db automatically as needed so there is no danger in deleting them.
