Preparing for a new computer
I'm getting a new computer on Christmas. I've begun preparing to transfer things over.
I've made backup copies of all my downloads, printed out all my passwords (you just export the passwords as a csv file), made backup copies of the 200+ brushes I've downloaded, and backup copies of all the other silly things I've added to PSE.
I just use the free version of MS office 365- not too worried about that stuff-(I have access to the full version of all the office 365 apps thru my school account) I honestly don't have any idea what my FB login / password is- but it's on that list I printed out.
On Christmas eve: I will logout of all Adobe products, to deauthorize them- Adobe creative cloud, photoshop, and the 10 versions of pse I currently have installed, Adobe Express, all adobe products- I'm pretty sure I just will log out of Creative cloud, and that will deathorize all Adobe products- I will go thru each anyway- just to be sure.
I still have to go thru individual programs- such as my cloning software, and some other software that moves files around.
There are some programs that will get reinstalled imediately on the new computer: My screen capture utility, a utility that lets me see thumbnails of brush files (That's a great little program I paid $10 for), my scanner software, stuff like that.
MS flight sim 2020? That's 345GB` all together (I've bought a buch of things for that).
I've also searched all my hard drives for all PSD files- and made a backup copy on an external hdd.
All my photos? I've allready have copies of copies, but made another copy- just in case and I've spread out all the copies on 3 different hard drives.
I have pretty good speed on my internet now- Average download speed is about 180MB/Sec.
WHY IS THAT IMPORTANT? I will just redownload what I need fro my Adobe account- even though I have all the installation files of all the previous versions.
On Christmas day: I will yank out the SSD's out of the old computer and slap em in the new computer- you can't use the programs that are on those hard drives- over time I will gut what I don't need.
I have the luxury of prreparing for a new computer, at least I'm not stuck with a dead computer and no way to deactive old stuff.
