Preserving Keyword tags in Organiser when switching computers

So if my photos are actually stored on One Drive and I switch to this new computer and restore the catalog and point them to the One Drive it will retain all my keyword tags on the photo files? I'm not moving the photo files, they will be in the same place.

A restore from the organizer does the following:

1 - Restore the media files to the new destination, that is the chosen master folder on the chosen computer or drive. Depending on your option choice, the folder tree structure will be reproduced, or a bit simplified.

2 - The contents of the catalog will reflect the new location of the media files, that is the actual new location in the folder structure AND the internal identification of the new drive. In your case, even if the folder tree structure is strictly identical with a system OneDrive folder for syncing, the new computer drive will be updated in the catalog.

3 - The updated catalog folder will be restored under the backup destination folder you have chosen.

So, my guess is that if you have set up the OneDrive system folder in the same location of the new computer (no change in letter drive or partition), the organizer should point to the correct location of files in the OneDrive folder. I have not tested the process on the OneDrive side, so I don't know if the restored files in the system folder will overwrite the files already in the Cloud or if you have to delete them from the previous computer OneDrive folder. Better ask support from OneDrive. I would suggest to create the backup folder first, then to delete or move away the media files from the OneDrive folder, thus deleting them from the Cloud, and doing the restore, which will add the media files to the new computer OneDrive folder and syncing them to the Cloud.

When you say that the photo files will be on "the same place", do you mean the same location on the folder tree (the OneDrive system folder), or if that OneDrive folder resides in an external drive ?
