Problem saving both caption & people keyword metadata with Elements Organizer 2024 on a Mac

When Face IDs have been added to a picture and “Save Metadata to Files” is used, I can view the names of the people in the picture in the Mac Finder OK. I can select (but not open) the file and use “Get Info.” This lists the people marked in the picture under Keywords. I can also open the file and click Show the inspector > Keywords inspector. However, if I add a caption in Elements Organizer, this information on the people goes away. Instead, the caption is listed in the Finder with “Get Info” under “Title” and under “Description,” but the people are not listed anywhere.

How can I view both the caption and the list of people keywords in the Mac Finder so that people who don’t have the Elements Organizer can view this information?

I'm using Elements Organizer 2023 on a Mac and tried replicating your problem, but it worked ok for me -both people tags and caption viewed ok via Finder with “Get Info”.  I tested with a .jpg file.  Can you upload a file that is causing this issue?

Thanks for any help. This initial message was rejected because it was too big. So here is the basic message and I will send the pictures showing the problem in separate emails.

Here are some pictures to show the problem. It looks like there is a problem sometimes, but not always. I use Elements Organizer 2024 and MacOS 14.2.1. I also used the Save Metadata to File command to save the Metadata for all of my pictures. Then, since my pictures are stored on iCloud Drive, I waited until all the files were uploaded OK. After that, I quit Elements Organizer asking it to backup the catalog. Then, I restarted my Mac.

Here are four files to illustrate the problem. I use the default Preview app to view the pictures in the Finder.

Picture A: 2002-11-02 P00282…jpg
Picture B: Maggio-012.jpg
Picture C: Maggio-005.jpg
Picture 😧 Maggio-023.jpg

Picture A (the twins): In Elements, it has face IDs, but no caption. In Finder, the Elements face names are listed as keywords using “Get info” or when the file is open using “Show the Inspector.” So all is good here. A camera input device was used.

Picture B (uncle): In Elements, it has a face ID, but no caption—just like in Picture A. In Finder, there are no keywords and no caption info. It should be the same as Picture A. A scanner input device was used.

Picture C (girl with green top): In Elements, it has a face ID and a caption. In Finder, with Get info,” it gives the caption (not keywords) under Title and under “Description." No keywords are given. A scanner input device was used.

Picture D (man & woman): In Elements, it has face names, but no caption. In Finder, the Elements face names are listed as keywords using “Get info” or when the file is open using “Show the Inspector.” So all is good here. A scanner input device was used.
