Problem with alt key in Photoshop elements 15

Since I upgraded from elements 10 to elements 15 I have a problem with my alt key in the healing brush tool. It doesn't select a new piece every time I use the alt key so the old selection keeps hanging and instead of making a selection it makes a stamp. It happens more often when I am working for a long time. A restart of my PC will help a bit but after a while it keeps happening again and again. I work with windows 10. Can anyone help me with this problem, it is getting really anoying. Thanks in advance. - Ingrid

    Go to Edit > Preferences and click on Reset Preferences on next launch.

    Now try re-launching Editor.

    Let us know if the issue still persists.

    Hello Anwesha,

    Thanks for your help. I followed your suggestion and it seemed to have helped in the beginning. But after I worked for a while the problem returned. Maybe it is important to know that I work with a Wacom tablet. I hope you have another solution.
