Problem with Elements 26 Organizer

I am unable to import TIF files into my elements 26 organizer.  I get a message saying these files are not supported. However, these are files that have been loaded into Elements 25 with no problem. I can import jpg files, just not tif files.   I am able to open the tif files in the elements 26 editor and process them, but trying to import to a catalog is not possible.  Suggestions?

Hi

I have the same problem. .tif files in Organizer 2026 are no longer supported. If I change to .tiff it works.

When you have thousands of files in your Organizer from older catalogues, which are converted in new catalogues, you have a big problem. Adobe should be able to solve this little problem with a great impact.

I spoke with tech support on the phone and supposedly they have reported
this bug. Just have to deal with 2025 until they put out a fix.

Thanks. We users have to find out their created bugs. Always the same with Adobe. The license you are waiting to use is running and will not be backdated. If you already deleted 2025, you have to reinstall your catalogues. And the workflow with other photo-apps is blocked. E.g. Nik Collection by DXO. A real mess.

I'm not sure why there is no longer Organizer import as these files can be used in the Editor. With so many people shooting on phones it could be that demand is insufficient and Adobe has quietly dropped support. Tiff files can be extremely large and they could affect performance of a catalog system. You could install the free Adobe application Bridge - see image. It's not necessary to import. Bridge is a browser application and it will just see your folders and their contents. You can right-click on any tif thumbnail and choose to open in the PSE 2026 Editor.

Thank you for the response. There is an Import feature in Elements 26
organizer. It just doesn't work with TIF files like it used to. It works
fine with jpg files. These TIFfiles are the same ones that I have imported
into the organizer since I began using Elements in 2017; I tried importing
smaller TIF files with the same bad result.. Has to be a bug of some kind
or else something is amiss in my registry for the new installation or
there's some obscure setting I've missed.

It could be a bug. It does seem strange that these files can be edited and saved to Organizer as a version set but can’t be imported directly from a folder. The latest Adobe link suggests they are supported for import and export.  I can only suggest you start a chat session with Adobe Support. In the meantime I will raise it with my contacts at Adobe.
