Problem with Photo Project Format

I save 100's of photos in JPEG.  When editing and saving photos in Elements 11, Expert Mode, I go to :

Save As

then in the Format drop-down menu I click on JPEG and continue my save to the designated file.

However, sometimes in the format drop-down menu I sometimes mistakenly click on Photo Project Format (because they are back-to-back in the menu) and then save the file not realizing what I had done.   When I make that mistake there is no recovery or backing out of it so that I can click the desired JPEG format and continue on - I am locked into the Photo Project Format and cannot save another image in JPEG   The only way that I have been able to get out of the Photo Project Format is to delete the image file that I had been working in and then reload the file and start over.  This is all a really big pain and very time consuming.

Any help is really appreciated.  I have spent hours searching help forums and Adobe sites.at

Thanks for your reply.  I did try your suggestion and it works.  Because it involves an extra step I am going to continue seeking a faster method of getting back into a JPEG Save.

Thanks again,

Hi Larry,

I can suggest you a way out of this when you accidentally save the image in photo project format.

You can use File> Save for Web option to save the images as JPEG post this. See Optimizing images in Photoshop Elements for instructions.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
