PROBLEM WITH RAM

I have been running elements 15 in windows 10 with no problems for quite some time. A few days there was a huge update in Windows 10 and since then I can open elements and pictures also but, any tool I try to use or even save the file I get an error message I do not have enough memory (RAM). Checking my memory I am only using a very small fraction of the 4GB available. What can I do to fix this problem. I did uninstall and reinstall elements 15 but still have the same problem. I updated Elements 2018 but it still the same problem.

Sorry to sound shocked - but, I am just discovering this 'issue' within my Photoshop Elements 15.

It is 3 weeks (at least) since the Windows update has corrupted various versions of Photoshop and there is no update yet available.

So, everyone who is not comfortable backing up and updating their registry file is plain out of luck? Really? Nice support guys...

I do understand that 'testing' is a thing of the past. Replaced by the more favorable upcoming 'patch file'.

Think I'll be hunting for a different Photo editing software for my photography business tomorrow.

Money wasted, but, lesson learned.

I also note how it's impossible to leave a simple email (asking for help) for Adobe to open/read and respond to. Just this forum.

Hi Pata, you are right, updating the registry file can not be the solution, today September 30 the issue is still open.

Adobe Guys, what are you doing?

So, more than three months later, we can say that thousands of Elements users have solved their problem by editing the registry and solved the issue created by Microsoft after the release of PSE 2018, but also PSE14 and PSE15.

The registry edit was found by Adobe.

You are free to test it yourself. Some users have not followed exactly the step by step instructions. In that case, no solution, but no harm.

To be sure you have edited correctly, post here the first 15 lines of the report you get from the menu 'Help >> System Info'.

Hello there, I face the same Problem with Elements 18 since yesterday. Everything was running perfect until I installed the latest Windows10-Update the night before. I reinstalled Elements 18 twice, including deletion of all preferences. Problem remains the same.

Yes, but did you try the registry edit which solved the problem for dozens of other users?

Several posts everyday for that issue after the Windows 10 (1803) update.

Solution:

Error: An integer between 50 and 8 is required | Elements | Windows 10

Read the other discussions. There are various symptoms for that memory issue, but editing the registry is the solution to try.
