Problems with PSE 2026

Have tried to install since 30th Oct but still unusable due to the following problems:

  1. Very hard to install - it took 9 attempts including uninstalling and running the cleaner tool every time but the installation crashed at around 90% each time. At first I thought it was because PSE 2020 was still installed so I uninstalled that but it made no difference
  2. Organiser would not open from the welcome screen, meaning several more reinstalls etc until it started working (badly)
  3. When Organiser finally opened the screen would black out for a couple of seconds if the cursor moved outside the thumbnail area, making in unusable
  4. Editor would not open from the welcome screen, so a lot more reinstalling etc without it getting past the plug-in scan
  5. Running PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe from the Photoshop Elements 2026 folder had the same result
  6. Resetting all preferences made no difference
  7. Same results with WiFi disabled
  8. I now cannot even get PSE 2020 to reinstall even though it was working perfectly before I bought PSE 2026 - it fails on a 146 error with a fault hyperlink that doesn't open

I am using a Lenovo Legion Pro 7 laptop running Win11 Pro Ver 10.0.26200

Intel i9-13900HX

96GB DDR5 RAM

NVidia GForce RTX 4070 Laptop Graphics

2.7TB SSD storage

The last install log for PSE 2026 is attached

Has anyone else had these problems?

I'm pretty sure I have fixed it.

While going through  the PSE 2026 preferences once again I noticed that the only graphics card detected was the Intel onboard graphics and not the RTX 4070 that was the default before the last windows update.

After I enabled the 4070 again, the Organiser black screen problem was gone but the menus no longer worked, so once again I uninstalled the program and ran the cleaner and removal utilities to remove all traces.

I then disabled auto hide for the taskbar as advised in one of the help articles, then did a fresh install which worked perfectly.

Thanks to D Fosse for replying to my original post. The 146 error was related to reinstallation of my original PSE 2020 and didn't appear when installing PSE 2026
