PS Elements 2023 Crashes frequently. Windows 10

Hello... I recently purchased PSE 2023 and installed it on a fresh 1 week old windows 10 install. Specs: AMD Ryzen 9 5900x, 64GB DDR 4, 1 TB gen 4 NVME, EVGA Nvidia RTX 3080. Everything is very stable. PSE 2023 crashes frequently. 2021 was stable for me. 2023 crashes frequently, especially every time I use the moving overlay feature when I go to save the file in the default mp4 format. it will save as a gif though. Wondering if anyone has run into this bug and knows how to fix it. Thank you for any insights...

Hello @Anon26872271iox3,

Can you please try installing the Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 from the link shared below and see if it resolves the issue?

Hi Medha, I just downloaded the files you suggested. and will install them in a few minutes to test PSE 2023 performance. I wanted to also give you more feedback. PSE 2023 is stuttering a lot, also noticeable brush lag when editing photos. Also, I tried a fresh windows 11 install and a fresh reinstallation of PSE 2023, same stuttering and brush lag. My system is very high-end, I should not be experiencing these issues. any help is appreciated. Thank You.

Hello,

Hope you no longer experience crashes after installing those files. For further investigation regarding the application performance, it would be helpful if you could capture a dump file when you notice the application is sluggish. To do so, please follow the steps shared here: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-create-crash-dump-file-manually-windows-10

Please share this .dmp file with me via personal message.

Regards,

Medha

So, does it only crash when you are using overlays?

Without more information, my only suggestions are to make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date.  Get them from nVidia.  Don't rely upon Microsoft's drivers even on a brand new installation of the OS.

Also try changing the setting for the graphics processor in the Edit>Preferences>Performance dialog.  Either uncheck it or check it if available as an option.

If neither of these suggestions work, try contacting Elements support. You can start a chat session by clicking on the blue Contact Us button under the Help & Support menu at Adobe.com. Or you can contact Support by telephone using the numbers listed here: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/phone.html.

Hi Greg,

PSE 2023 was crashing when using overlays, but once I switched my NVME to Samsung 980 pro that problem went away. Sadly the noticeable stuttering and brush lag when trying to edit photos is still happening. With such a high-end system it is beyond frustrating. Also, I installed a fresh copy of windows 11, and a fresh copy of PSE 2023 same stuttering and lagging performance issues. Made sure the hardware acceleration tab is checked. same issues. any ideas?
