PS Elements 2023 jpg file open default can't reset

Want to reset the preferences to PS Elements 2023 does not open a jpg file with the app but reset options under preferences don't seem to work.

    We need more details about your problem.  Are you talking about clicking on a file in Windows File Explorer or Mac Finder?  If so, you need to go to the OS settings to change the file association for jpeg files.
