PS Elements 2023: MSVCR120.DLL missing

I installed PSE 2023 on a clean, fully patched W10 Pro 22H2 and got the 'MSVCR120.DLL missing' error. So I did my research on it, download and installed the latest x64 Visual C++ redisributable package (2015 - 2022) but this didn't fix it. I then removed the Visual C++ package, rebooted, re-installed it, rebooted again but the error remains. I'm hoping I don't need to uninstall then re-install PSE.

So, have I missed something or do I need to sacrifice a better quality virgin remove and re-install PSE?

Correct answer Greg_S.

Try installing the 2013 version of Visual C++ from here.  Install both the x86 and x64 packages.

There are LOTS of reasons why so many programs use the 2013 version of  CC+.   Just intall it, and forget about it- your problems should go away.

Thanks. I only installed the X64 version and it worked perfectly. Is there any benefit in installing the x86 as well or is that just in case something else needs it?
