PS Elements 26 Liquify Filter crashes

I am currently one day into a 7-day trial of Photoshop Elements 2026, having used older versions previously. I have installed this on a new Windows 11 computer, because my old version won't run on it.

The one Filter I make a lot of use of is Liquify, mostly for dewarping. Unfortunately, most of the time it just crashes with the message "Could not complete the Liquify command because of a disk error", although it does work fine occasionally. This filter always worked flawlessly even on PSE 7.

How can I resolve this problem? I am thinking of looking at other products rather than committing to PSE if I can't have this important feature.

How much free disk space do you have on your computer?

I don't know if this will have any effect, but try changing the Use Graphics Processor setting under Edit>Preferences>Peformance:

@BriCatt you'd be better off reporting the issue on the Photoshop Elements forum
