PS Elements Editor Workspace does not open

PS Elements Editor Workspace (PS Elements 2026 V26.3) will not open. Organizer opens but the Photo Editor Workspace starts then simply remains in what appears to be the opening process with the spinning icon.

I have uninstalled / reinstalled (twice), I have also restarted the computer several times. I have searched the internet and tried several suggestions, none of which have rectified the problem.

I had the same problem a couple of months ago and found a solution but have not been able to locate that solution this time. I may be wrong but I seem to recall it required a change to video/photo files.

Edit: Windows 11 Latest updates installed. 32GB memory, Nvidia Geforce RTX 5060Ti, Lots of HD space available.

Perhaps it’s a permissions issue.  Do you know how to check that on the exe file?

Try closing all programs including Organizer and navigate to the Editor executable file.

    Go to:

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2026

Inside the Photoshop Elements 2026 folder scroll down to the files beginning with P and right-click on the application PhotoshopElementsEditor and choose Open - see image

If it launches successfully, you can pin it to the taskbar and you should be able to launch in future with a single click on the taskbar icon.

If that doesn't work you may need to do a full clean-up and re-installation.

Have tried the Editor exe several times, with/without run as administrator. No luck.

I have done (two) uninstall (Revo Uninstall) and reinstalls. No luck.

I have removed / downloaded & reinstalled my Nividia graphics drivers and have also tried both the gamer drivers and the studlo drivers. No luck.

JFI: The program worked correctly when last used Sunday August 16. I do not recall any changes at all to the computer/drivers/software since that time. Today of course I have been trying changes to get the program working again.

ALSO…..as previously stated I had this same problem a couple of months ago and I vaguely recall the solution having something to do with files or file names. I may be mistaken there.
