PS Elements Invalid Serial #

Hello.  I recently started having issues with my legitimately purchased copy of PS Elements 2020 from the Adobe Store via Amazon.  Through my research, it was suggested that I update my computer and then uninstall the software.  This should have deactivated the program.  Upon trying to reinstall, I keep getting an error message that my serial # is invalid.  This should not be the case.  To my knowledge, it is only loaded on my one laptop and I have not shared it with anyone else.  It is appropriately registered and so on. This was a gift that cost close to $100.  I dont use it often, just to edit personal photos and artwork.  The Representative on  Adobe Chat suggested I post here for help soving the issue.  I'd really like to get this up and running asap to finish a bday gift.  Any thoughts or suggestions would be incredibly helpful.  Thanks in advance!

Having the exact same issue. It appears that they released the new 2022 version yesterday and it has shut down prior actication with other version. I have gotten the run around all day to include come to the community chat for answers. the only person that will answer either message or by calling is the same person, who was not only rude (worst customer service rep i think i have ever delt with but when messageing with them am told they are just billing and can not do anything. Complete crap is what they are pulling.

Thank you for your response! I'm going to try calling again. It is
completely ridiculous!

By the way, what number do you call? The response you get makes me wonder if that too might be scammers...

I should add this info: the message that the serial is invalid means it is rejected either because is wrong, or it has been blocked. It is NOT a code for telling you the serial number is in use on another computer.

Tip: watch out for private messages from "Adobe Support". Adobe will not contact you, this would be scammers so things could get much worse if you reply.

It is disgraceful that Adobe support sent you here.  This is a user to user forum and we have no way of helping you with an activation issue.  Contact Adobe support and be persistent with them.  How did you contact support - via telephone or chat session.  You should be able to get them to deactivate your Elements 2020 installations by either method.  And they are supposed to provide full support for Elements 2020 (at least through today when Elements 2022 was released).  And it really doesn't matter how old your version is with respect to activation. So just make it clear that all you want to do is deactivate your license and you should be helped.

And just so we are clear, did you purchase a boxed DVD through Amazon?  If it was a download, are you perhaps mistaking a redemption code for the serial number.  Photoshop Elements will have a serial number containing 6 sets of 4-digit numbers, beginning with 1057.
