PSE 13 cannot open CR2 photos [from Canon 5D Mark IV]

I recently upgraded a PC to Win 10 Home 64-bit. I then reinstalled PSE 13 and ran Creative Cloud to insure PSE was up to date.

PSE can open psd photos, but when asked to open cr2 (RAW) photos it responds ACR needs to be updated.

The camera is a Canon 5D Mark IV which has been supported by ACR for over a year.

Any ideas?

The Canon 5D Mark IV requires Camera Raw 9.7 or later.

PSE 13 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 9.0 so you'll never be able to open 5D Mark IV Raw files in PSE 13.

Your options:

Pay to upgrade to PSE 2019 so you can open Raw files directly in PSE, or
Download the free Adobe DNG Converter and convert all Raw files to DNG format. Then open the converted DNG files (not the Raw files) in PSE 13. https://www.adobe.com/au/products/dng/
