PSE 13 freezing and crashing when sa

I am running PSE13 on a 64bit Windows desk top computer, and when I try to save my work, the program freezes completely, and indefinitely. Twice, it has frozen my entire computer. No other program is triggering this problem. I am incredibly frustrated, especially since I can't contact anyone directly to help me. I have a project with a deadline, and I cannot get it done because I cannot save my work. I am very disappointed in the lack of direct support for this program, when it is offered for other Adobe products.

That was not helpful at all. I am not getting any sort of error message, the whole program just freezes. And it crashes every time I try to save ANY layered file, not just a particular one, so it is unlikely that there is a flawed layer causing it to seize. Do you have any other suggestions?

Here's the error message I keep getting, as of tonight: "Could not build a preview because of a program error." Adobe is useless and won't provide any customer support.
