PSE 14 converted to 2024 but new catalog has no media

I am currently using PSE 14, with the program files and catalog stored on my C: drive and all of my photos saved to an external hard drive (D:).  I installed PSE 2024 on my C: and converted the current catalog, resulting in a new folder named My Catalog 1.  All of the files in the original catalog folder appear to have been copied over to the new My Catalog 1, but PSE 2024 is telling me there is no media available.  Why isn't PSE 2024 seeing the photos on the external drive?

I think I figured it out.  My PSE 14 catalog was created from a restored backup so the location is C:\Photoshop 2017 Restore\New Folder\My Catalog.  (The folder is named 2017 because that's when it was restored.)  In PSE 2024, the program was trying to read from C:\Photoshop 2017 Restore\New Folder\My Catalog 1\My Catalog, so it was going one folder layer deeper into the file structure than what 14 was using.  (You can see this in the screenshots as well.  The additional layer of "My Catalog" folders exists in the original My Catalog folder as well but does not seem to cause any problems.)

Both the My Catalog 1 folder and its embedded My Catalog folder have a "catalog" file, but where the My Catalog 1\FaceAnalysis\json folder contains 80,000 files, the My Catalog1\My Catalog\FaceAnalysis\json folder is empty.

I went into the My Catalog 1 folder and removed the embedded My Catalog folder and all of a sudden all of my media showed up.  If you look at the new screenshot, the last "\My Catalog" is gone and the Catalog Size now matches the Catalog Size on the PSE 14 System Info.
