PSE 14 Editor Won't Open

I can't open PSE Editor. It launches but the Editor window doesn't open. The Organizer opens however. If I enter filename in Organizer and try to go to the Editor to work on the photo, Editor doesn't open. If I click on a .psd file, what opens is a small window with a thumbnail in the upper left corner of my screen. but I can't maximize that thumbnail. Any ideas what's wrong with my Editor and how I can fix it? I use the Mac OS on a Macbook.
