PSE 14 no longer functions after Win10 update (I believe)

So this lost function seems different from others.

Basically now if do any kind of edit like selecting a part of my image with a marquee tool or selection box, the selection does not actually appear until a refresh is done. So either hitting F5 or navigating to another image then returning to my main image.

Anyone seen this? This makes PSE useless... I just updated from 14.0 to 14.1 and the problem still exists. The only thing that changed was the Win10 updates.

Two ideas that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10

-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window

-or Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL Windows permissions may help... this says Encore, but is sometimes required for ALL Adobe programs (this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account) so follow the instructions, substituting the name and location of your specific program for Encore

Do not count on Windows to be fully up to date when it comes to device drivers

Go to the vendor site to be sure you have an updated driver for your graphic adapter

•ATI Driver https://www.amd.com/en/support

There are also intermittent reports that the newest driver is not always the best driver due to driver bugs or compatibility issues, so you MAY need to try an earlier driver version

Thanks...that was too fast

What I wanted to add is this seems to be an event fire issue. For example I just used the elliptical marq and selected. I resized the PSE window just slightly and THEN the selection appeared. So somehow, these tool "complete" commands are not firing anymore inside the PSE libraries...

But I will look into your suggestions.

I found this which looks like the same issue. Layers don't update

I dont know if windows update is the issue. I did a re-install of PSE 14 and it still is an issue. The only thing I noticed is when I re-installed, it gave me the warning that "A windows update has not completed" but I installed anyway.

Will keep updated if I get this fixed. PS: This will kill my use of any Adobe PS products if this continues. I have a business that requires image editing!
