Question

PSE 14 slide show stopped working

Hello. I see similar threads marked as answered but without actual answers.

In PSE14 I select a few photos and go to "create slideshow". The slide show theme window comes up with a few themes. I select one (e.g. "album") and hit "next" and it goes right back to the organizer. The slide show button at the bottom of the screen also does nothing. I have rebooted several times. My system is Windows 7/64. I have been using PSE for over a decade, but I know this feature used to work in PSE14. I have several catalogs but it does not work in any, including one created in Jan 2017 so not converted from a previous version. Any ideas? Thank you.

    Hi,

    Apologies for this inconvenience.

Please follow these steps listed below:

    • Quit Elements Organizer.
    • Open task manager
    • search for "dynamiclinkmediaserver.exe" in task manager processes tab.
    • select it and click on end task button at below.
    • Now launch the application and see if your are able to create the slideshow.

    Thanks,

    Arshla

Hello. The dynamiclinkmediaserver.exe process is not running after the application exits. I watched and it starts when the application is running and exits with the application.

I have subsequently uninstalled and reinstalled PSE14 and update 1, it still cannot create a slide show. I have tried creating a slide show on my laptop, also running PSE14, and it works correctly. So i have a rather cumbersome workaround, but I would like to get this resolved on my photo editing system.

Thank you for looking into this.

I suggest you clean uninstall PSE 14 using Adobe CC Cleaner tool. For instructions, see Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

And then install the application afresh.

    Thanks,
