Question

PSE 15 crashes when uploading MP4

An MP4 file crashes PSE15 when I try to upload it. Can anyone tell me what the problem with the file could be... I can upload the file if that would help (and if I could find out how!).

Thanks

David

Hi Neeraj

I don't want to edit any videos in PSE, just that the import should include them in correctly in the catalogue without crashing. This works correctly with other video files.

Also, when I import files from a folder or device it is a total nuisance that Photoshop Elements crashes during the upload instead of just leaving out these files (if they are somehow such a nuisance). It means, for example, that I have to be careful which files I have on my iPhone before I upload, which involves having to open all the iPhone folders on my PC beforehand so that I can ensure that the upload won't crash part way through.

Also, there are other video formats that PSE quite happily imports (but it doesn't allow editing!).

Sorry, but I don't buy this response.

Hi David,
Thanks for posting to Adobe Forums.
Photoshop Elements doesn't support .mp4 files as it is only used to edit Photos. Please check this link to get the list of supported formats with Photoshop Elements.

You can use Premiere Elements to edit video files like .mp4. Please check this link to get the list of supported formats with Premiere Elements.

Neeraj

- What is the source of .mp4 file or from which devices its has been recorded?
