PSE 15 Error "Adobe Photoshop editor quit unexpectedly"

I just purchased and downloaded  PSE 15.  I'm getting " adobe photoshop  elements quit unexpectedly" every time I try to edit a photo. I'm running Mac OS 10.11.6. Is this a chronic issue with PSE 15 and OS10.11.6 or was PSE 15 the wrong program for me. I really hate that they only offer off shore help!

    I'm running Mac Os Sierra 10.12 (updated yesterday) on a MacBook Pro in an attempt to solve crashing from PSE 15. It has worked last week, but after a few days it crashed. Photo editing is impossible. I can use the organizer but that's where it ends. Maybe someone knows an answer to Onebigsooner and me.
