pse 15 - flattern all version sets

Hello again

In ealier pse, it was possible til flattern several version sets at a time, but in no. 15, I can´t find  way to do this. - Only one picture at a time.

Can anyone help

    Also make sure that you are not in Adaptive Grid. To go to detailed view, press Ctrl + D (WIN) / Cmd +D (MAC)  then you can see stack and version set related options.

    I read this mail as no. 2, and using ctrl +d it is now working

    Thanks for your help.

    But I think that your new version is very difficult to Work with – too much fancy stuff, like this.

    Which older version do you have?

    It's even simpler to flatten version sets, provided you are aware of the 'adaptative grid' view of thumbnails which lets you toggle from detailed view to adaptative view introduced in several versions already (the Ctrl D shortcut).

    You select a number of files (in version sets or not), right click and choose 'Version set', then flatten.

    The not so new 'adaptative' grid is a big advantage for browsing (more images or bigger images in a single display), but it does not handle stacks and version sets and does not show filenames and dates. Two different needs for efficient workflow. Nothing fancy.

    I can see a valid reason for the change for the global flattening of version sets. It's a very long job for a big library while you generally need to be more selective before deleting a very important piece of information. It's even more critical if you choose to 'also delete from disk'. Depending on your reasons to flatten, you might consider:

    - you simply want a 'lighter' catalog while keeping the originals: do a full backup first or work on a catalog folder copy.

    - you want a lighter 'library' and catalog for a laptop for instance. Do a transfer via backup and restore before flattening (or after flattening a catalog copy).

    - you want to be selective to get rid of big raw originals for pictures without great interest or quality: be selective and use your ratings or tags before flattening.

    You still can do this. Follow along these steps:

    1. In Organizer, go to Find menu > All version sets.

    2. Select all version sets, right click and select flatten version sets.

    Hi

    Sorry – following your advise, the ”text” stack and version set are grey and can´t be activated.

    And now where I can find your sentence ” right click and select flatten version sets

    Only if I maximise one Picture and can right click.
