As far as I know, using NAS drives is not supported by Adobe on Elements and has very little change to be in the future.

Many users manage to store their image files on their NAS, but that's another story for catalogs (it's excluded on Macs).

What seems to work well:

- using the NAS as a backup or a Sync drive

- using Dropbox or similar to sync their catalog from their computer to the NAS. Don't ask me how, but that has been mentioned in the Lightroom forum.
