    Hi,

PSE 15 does not have options to change the background UI. The UI was changed to grey background in PSE 11 and all the following versions have same UI scheme.

    Thanks,

So, with all that I have read since the change is PSE 11, is there any expectations  in the future to address this?

I have had PSE and PE since its inception and I always go back to 10.

    Chet,

I think it should be quite clear that Adobe has moved to a clear background in PSE11 and you should forget about a change in that choice:

    - that's what the large majority of Elements users wants, whether you and me like it or not.

    - my personal view is that Adobe likes this choice to create a very visible difference between the 'pro' and the 'consumer' softwares.

    - the validity of claims that dark backgrounds are more 'ergonomic' is not obvious. It's a matter of taste.

In my view, there is a difference in the needs for the look of the interface of the editor and the organizer.

For the organizer, I much prefer the present interface. Its different and subtle shades are very handy to distinguish version sets or selected files.

The problem is that most users have not calibrated displays that are much, much too bright which shows all clear shades as white.

I can switch to the adaptative grid to show only thumbnails without any background for fast viewing selections.

For the editor, I use and recommend to set your preferences to allow floating documents in expert mode.

You simply right click on the background of one of those document windows and set your favorite color : black, dark gray or custom.

After all, that's to appraise the colors of your document that the background color is meaningful.

I do find the legibility of the fonts and menu is quite good and less tiring for the eyes than in PSE10.
