PSE 2018 Back-up

Is it common for a full back-up to take 10 hours to complete?  In my old computer I was used to a 3-5 hour process, but, on my Windows 10 unit, 10 hours seems a bit too long.  My catalog includes 34K images; 95% of my media are JPEG and the remainder are scanned TIFF.  I am using full frame cameras only the last 5 years but admittedly, the edited files are large but nothing like the size of RAW.  I average about 40-60 Mb per image.  I also include extensive commentary but that is only as text.

I noted prior discussion that indicated that a catalog should be OK for 75K - 100L.  Any comments pertaining to the PSE back-up system that makes this much time an inevitable occurrence?

The critical factor seems to be the size of your backup folder in MB.

For instance, it takes me less than 4 hours to backup 500 GB on an external USB drive.

The other factor may be with your connection speed; USB 2 or 3?  Network drive?

That was my suspicion + I had not optimized the catalog in quite some time.  PSE Backup Folder Properties shows 61, 547 GB with 61,547 files.  I am using USB 3.0.  Thanks for your thoughts.

Typo; 769 GB that include 61,547 PSE files and 33,414 images - mostly JPEGs with a few tiffs.
