PSE 2018 support for Sony A7 III raw files on MacOS still missing in action

I've waited and waited but it seems that PSE 2018 will never get updated to natively support A7III raw files. I'm not even sure the newest 2019 version supports the camera so for the time being I'm using the Adobe DNG converter but there's really no reason for not supporting the A7 Mk3. Does anyone know if there's any chance for an eventual update?

Actually pse 2018 got the necessary camera raw 10.3 update unless you got pse 2018 from the Apple or Microsoft stores.

So go to Help>Updates from within pse 2018.

Re: Today: update to ACR 10.3 for PSE 2018

Pse 2019 has camera raw 10.4 so it supports that camera out of the box.

    Hello Jeff,

    Thanks for your insight.

It's a shame that Adobe didn't enable A7III raw files support within PSE 2018. Unless I'm mistaken, the camera was released in November 2017 and by no way marginal in terms of market share so there is really no reason PSE 2018 (Mac) shouldn't support files coming from the camera.

Did you try Help>Updates from with photoshop elements 2018?

That should get you camera raw 10.3 which would then open the Sony A7III raw files.
