PSE 2018 Workspace

Question

In previous PSE, when I opened a file it appeared in the workspace. In the 2018 version the file is off of the workspace and only a thumbnail, which I then drag onto the workspace and resize.

Is there a way to have all files open on the workspace and in "fit the screen" size?
