PSE 2020 on Mac Puzzle Effects Not Working

When I choose the size of puzzle piece, an alert pops up that the command "copy" is not currently available. Any suggestions as to how to solve yjos. I am using Mac OS 10.14.

Can you please elaborate in what step of Puzzle effect you got this issue.

My problem has proceeded and now I can select a piece but after selecting puzzle piece, the extract piece button place a small circle with a square on top and does nothing else. If I then select the move tool and drag, a box is created that also does nothing.
