PSE 2020 Organizer freezes when trying to back up

I feel like since I updated to 2020, all I have are bugs and crashes.  I have successfully backed up my catalog in the past, andwhen i check the files, the .tly is present, but when I try to browse folders to back up (I've tried full and incremental) all I get is the endless wheel of death that never loads up.  Any suggestions? I"m on Mac Catalina.
